Inspection checklist

Office building cleaning inspection checklist

Use this for routine inspections of multi-tenant or single-tenant office space. Walk it in the order people experience the building: the entry first, then the spaces tenants use every day. Every item is something you can see, so two inspectors should reach the same answer.

38 items in 7 areas, 4 marked critical. Free to print and use.

Tips for using this checklist

  • Inspect after the crew finishes, not while they work, so you see what a tenant will see in the morning.
  • Cut items the client doesn't pay for. A checklist item that isn't in the scope of work only creates arguments.
  • Mark critical items as automatic failures. Clients remember a dirty restroom longer than a missed ledge.
  • Photograph every failed item. A photo settles the question faster than a description.
  • Rotate which floors or wings you inspect so every area gets checked over a month.

Score this on a phone instead of a clipboard

In JanGuard, a checklist like this becomes an inspection template. Inspectors score each item on their phone and add photos, and failed items become deficiencies your team fixes and verifies.
